Parc Oriental de Maulevrier

Parc Oriental de Maulevrier

The Parc Oriental de Maulévrier, located just 15 kilometers from the Hotel l'Europe, is the largest Japanese garden in Europe and a true invitation to travel and serenity. Created at the beginning of the 20th century, this unique park extends over more than 29 hectares and offers a complete immersion in Japanese art and culture through a perfect harmony between nature and architecture.

This exceptional garden was designed in the traditional Japanese style, blending typical landscape elements such as ponds, waterfalls, red lacquered wooden bridges, miniature islands, and winding paths lined with bamboo and Japanese maples. Every detail, from the choice of plants to the placement of stones, is designed to offer an aesthetic and spiritual experience, inspired by the principles of Zen.

Oriental Park is divided into several themed areas, including moss gardens, rock gardens, bamboo forests, and areas dedicated to Japanese medicinal and aromatic plants. A large greenhouse also houses rare plant species, including bonsai trees and orchids.

Visitors can also admire traditional buildings, such as the tea house, where tea ceremonies are sometimes held, as well as a temple and several pagodas that reinforce the authentic atmosphere of the place.

Open year-round, the park offers cultural events and workshops, including calligraphy, ikebana (Japanese flower arranging), and meditation. This peaceful haven is ideal for strolling, recharging your batteries, or simply contemplating the beauty of a meticulously orchestrated landscape.

The Parc Oriental de Maulévrier is a must-see for lovers of nature, Japanese culture, and anyone looking for a moment of calm and escape in the heart of nature.
